If Courier Driver Gets Sick, What Are My Options?

July 1, 2009 | Tagged:

Businesses in the Des Moines area know that in order to keep up with the fast paced world, that making good use of a Des Moines courier is a sound business decision. They can help you get your packages, and deliveries completed on a regular basis, and have a more vested commitment to helping your business succeed. That does not mean that there will never be any problems from time to time with your courier service. One of the best things about using a locally based courier service is that you usually have the same driver. They know your business, your packages, and how you need them delivered. But, nobody stays healthy all the time and it might happen that one day your courier driver is sick. You have two options that are available to you if your regular courier driver becomes ill. You can ask for another driver or you can hire one for the duration of the illness.

Most of the Des Moines delivery services will do their utmost best to accommodate your business in the event that your regular driver becomes sick. If it is a short-term illness, such as the flu or a cold, you are looking one to two days without your regular driver. However, if there is a serious illness, the courier company will either reassign another one of his or her drivers, or hire someone on a temporary basis to fill in. In fact, this is standard with most Iowa trucking companies. They realize how important it is that your products are shipped out on time, and that the deliveries are made to their respective destinations on time. Having a regular driver is a great asset, but when the event comes when they are going to be out for a while, a good courier service will provide you with an adequate replacement.

In the business world there are always going to be those things that will get in the way, or cause some sort of problem that will affect things for a short while. The courier company that can continue to offer great service, without any problems, when a driver becomes ill is the type of company you want to be with. If your regular driver becomes ill and will be out for an extended time, ask the courier company if you can request a certain driver that you have worked with in the past.
